Silk Performer 15.0 introduces a smart new feature that allows you to reach a specific number of transactions per second: the transaction and session pacing. A new dialog provides a number of options to specify a so-called pacing wait time. The pacing wait time will be added following a transaction or a session (which is a set of transactions). Let's take a closer look at this handy new feature: Pacing wait time is the period of time that is to be added to the execution time of a transaction. If you add up the execution time and the pacing wait time of a transaction, you get the total time of the transaction. Take a look at the following graphic: To access the Configure Pacing dialog in Silk Performer 15.0, click Run Test in the workflow bar and click ... in the Pacing column. Click Enable pacing and select if the pacing wait time is to be added to a Transaction or to a Session . Then, you can specify whether you want to define the Pacing wait time or the Total time . Finally, you can also choose if you want to specify a random or a fixed time value. To define all these settings, you cannot only use the user interface, but you can also use the two newly implemented pacing BDL functions: SetPacingTime() and GetPacingTime() . Refer to the BDL Reference, to learn about the syntax and all respective parameters of these functions: GetPacingTime Function SetPacingTime Function
