The ability to record 64-bit applications out of the box was added in Silk Performer 16.0. In earlier Silk Performer versions (before Silk Performer 16.0) Internet Explorer 64-bit could only be recorded via proxy recording but not through normal protocol recording. This was because Silk Performer, as a 32-bit application, was unable to hook the additional memory spaces used by the functional calls of a 64-Bit application. Please see the following article for details on proxy recording Internet Explorer 64-bit process if necessary: How can I proxy record Internet Explorer with Silk Performer? You should also be aware that Internet Explorer 64-bit is not what generally runs by default on 64-bit Operating Systems. To confirm this you should launch Internet Explorer as normal, and you can check the process name in Task Manager. If it's listed as 'Internet Explorer *32' this is the 32-bit process. Otherwise if the *32 is missing on a 64-bit machine, then this is the 64-bit process. In Silk Performer versions prior to Silk Performer 16.0 the Internet Explorer Application Profile should be pointing to the 32 bit executable or recording will not be successful: If the path is missing the (x86) on a 64-bit machine this means you're pointing to the 64-bit process. This will not allow successful recording in versions prior to Silk Performer 16.0. Old KB# 35369
