Wiki Page: 'Host Key is cached but in Registry' error reported when monitoring vmstat(ssh) measures in Silk Performance Explorer

During this type of monitoring session, Silk Performance Explorer uses putty to retrieve the vmstat (ssh) performance measures. It has been determined that putty is storing SshHosteys (unique codes for identifying ssh servers) in the directory structure where the putty executable resides, i.e "C:\Users\ youruser \AppData\Roaming\PerfExp\123456789", as opposed to the System's Registry - contrary to the error message flagged. The reporting of this error has been recognised as a bug in Silk Performance Explorer and will be addressed with the release of Silk Performer 16.5. A workaround to this issue, in terms of removing the error itself, is to save the SshHostKeys in the Windows Registry Database. This can be achieved by creating an environment variable called ExtraPuTTY_MODE and setting its value to REG_MODE. That means you only need to confirm the dialog once and the SshHostKey value will be stored here: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SimonTatham\PuTTY\SshHostKeys
