Explanation of Time Bounds -------------------------------------------- Time Bounds are used to specify timers for which you want to generate automatic threshold values based on Baseline results. You can specify a multiplier that is used for the calculation of the time bound values. The average response times in the baseline test are multiplied by this factor to generate the time bound values for the specified values. For example, specifying a multiplier of 3 means you are willing to accept response times 3 times greater than the average response time of a timer in the baseline test. Setting Time Bounds in the Script ---------------------------------------------------- In order to set time bounds you need to run a baseline test (Click " Find Baseline" icon in Workflow bar) Once completed you need to view the baseline report, (Click Confirm Baseline icon then Baseline Report) If you are satisfied with the response times then click on the "Accept BaseLine " button in the baseline report. To set the Time Bounds click on the Confirm Baseline icon again then " set response time thresholds" A new dialog appears which allows you to set Time Bounds for the following : - Page Timers Transaction Timers Custom Timers Once you have specified your Time Bounds and multipliers click OK and SilkPerformer will create a function in your script that will contain the time bounds. In order to specify time bounds for other timers see MeasureSetBound function in the On-Line Help.
