Wiki Page: When adding a client certificate in .Net Explorer why is the error "Input data cannot be coded as a valid certificate" returned and how do I resolve this?

.NET Explorer requires a certificate that has a format that can be handled by the underlying .NET Framework. Currently this must be in the form of a CER certificate. If you attempt to import a certificate in an another format, such as PFX, then you will get an error. This can be resolved by changing the format of the certificate to CER using OpenSSL ( http://www.openssl.org/ ). There is an active enhancement request for the ability to import certificate formats other than CER into .NET Explorer. If you wish to add your name to this enhancement request please contact Support.
