If you intend to record Telnet scripts with Silk Performer 2007; then it is strongly recommended that you first install Patch 3 (SP76_Patch_03.zip) before doing so. P atch 3 resolves the following Recording issue which can potentially affect Telnet scripts, and may lead to errors during script replay: Issue 35005 : Recorder generates scripts containing "" instead of null (eg. in WebTelnetRecvSubNegotiation or PeopleSoft scripts). SP76_Patch_03.zip can be downloaded from the ftp site via the link below: ftp://supportftp.borland.com/private/support/Silk/SilkPerfor mer/SP76_Patch_03.zip Once Patch 3 has been installed successfully; you can use the following procedure to configure SilkPerfromer to record a Telnet script: 1. Create a new Project of Type: Internet - TCP/IP based Application. 2. Create a new Applicaiton Profile to hook Telnet.exe: i. Access "SETTINGS | SYSTEM | RECORDER | APPLICATION PROFILES (tab) " ii. Click "Add" iii. Type "Telnet" in the Application Profile textbox iv. In "Application Path" browse to the Telnet executable at: C:\\WINDOWS\system32\telnet.exe v. Select "Custom Application" from the "Application Type" drop down list. vi. Select the TCP/IP option under "Protocol Selection". vii. Click "Ok" 3. To record the new Telnet Profile; Uncheck Internet Explorer option and select the Telnet option (in Application Profiles). 4. Click "Model Script" to begin the recording. Silk Performer will open the Command Prompt window, enabling you to enter and record any Telnet commands in your script. Old KB# 20446
