Why might my session time in my baselineReport.brp appear longer than my test duration? This can happen if the test does not run for long enough to complete a full session. The session time is the time required for the execution of one session. A session is defined as the transactions specified in the transactions section of a user definition. Consider the following example, where our session is as follows: user VUser transactions TInit : begin; TMain : 20; Running this test for 31 seconds gives a test duration of 31 seconds, whereas the session time shows 1 minute 28 seconds: In this session we have 21 transactions (The TInit transaction, and the 20 TMain transactions). If you look at the transaction count in the Summary General section of your report, you should be able to see that only a portion of the transactions could be completed in the time specified: This means the test does not actually have time to complete the full session. However, the hypothetical session time can be calculated by multiplying the average transaction time of the TMain transaction by 20 plus the TInit transaction times. This is where the session time you are seeing comes from. Old KB# 17075
