Yes it is possible to record applications which use multiple processes. The way that the application is launched within SilkPerformer is done differently though. For example, let's say your application has 2 process ProcA and ProcB. ProcA is responsible for launching and controlling the initial login, then ProcB is invoked and this deals with the control of traffic being sent to and from the server. You would need to set up a different application profile for each process. For information on setting up application profiles please see "Application Profiles Configuration" in the on-line help. Once both application profiles are set up then you need to start the recorder manually, to do this choose RECORD | RECORDER from the SilkPerformer toolbar. This will ensure that SilkPerformer is hooking all applications specified in its application profile list, rather than just one specific profile. Once the recorder opens start ProcA manually (i.e by using it's shortcut on your desktop or the Windows program files menu). SilkPerformer should now be record the traffic from ProcA. Once ProcB starts (either by being invoked by ProcA or by you starting it) then SilkPerformer should record this also. If you are having any difficulties with recording please contact Support. NOTE : This resolution is referring to processes which generate web based traffic. If you have an application which produces, for example, COM and ODBC simultaneously then this can become more complex and it is recommended to record different scripts. In such cases please contact Technical Support for more assistance.
