Throughput is a server-side measure so in order to monitor it a Server Analysis Module (SAM) license will be required. To check if you are licensed for SAM click on Help | About within SilkPerformer and SAM will be checked if a valid licence is in place. It is also possible to monitor a similar metric in Performance Explorer in real time which is "KB sent and received" as these metrics are used to calculate throughput. The process for monitoring these values is as follows: Throughput as a Server side metric: (requires SAM licence) - Open Performance Explorer - Click Monitor a Server - In the wizard chose select from predefined data sources and click next - Choose Web Server | Choose the web server and click next - Specify the credentials for the Web Server and click next - Select Throughput - Click Finish and these values will be plotted and updated in real time. KB Sent and Received as a client side metric: (used to calculate throughput) - Open Performance Explorer - Chose new monitor graph button or File | New | Monitor Graph - In the wizard chose select from predefined data sources and click next - Choose Borland | SilKPerformer | Controller click next - Specify the credentials for the controller and click next - Scroll down to Internet and choose KB Sent and KB Received. - Click Finish and these values will be plotted and updated in real time.
