The middle dot character is used to represent a blank space that is sent as part of the actual traffic, as opposed to a blank space that is used for formatting purposes only. Example from a Silk Performer log file: HTTP/1.1-200-OK\r\n The spaces before the "HTTP" are not sent as part of the traffic The space between "1.1" and "200" and "OK" are sent as part of the traffic and therefore are represented with the middle dot character. Some Text Editors are not be able to display this character and it will be shown as "0xB7" Old KB# 19227
