The reason for this is that when you try to hook explorer.exe (Windows Explorer) the process is already running as a service. This is because the explorer.exe is run continually from the system start-up and, when a Windows Explorer is opened to record the application, a new child window is opened of the already running explorer.exe. To allow successful recording you will need to kill the already running explorer.exe and restart it. Please follow the steps below; Configure an application profile to go to the explorer.exe. Start the recorder from the menu in SilkPerformer Kill explorer.exe (via Task Manager) Start explorer.exe (via Task Manager or SilkPerformer Recorder) Start the application and functions should be recorded.
